DVRC Scholarship Page
 
The Rotary Club of the Deerfield Valley offers a variety of scholarships, for both short-term and post-secondary education.  We are committed to providing opportunities across a wide spectrum of educational pursuits, including academic, trade, and technical training.
 
Applicants must live in the following Deerfield Valley Town: Dover, Halifax, Jamaica, Marlboro, Readsboro, Searsburg, Stratton, Wardsboro, Whitingham and Wilmington. 
 
Three distinct application tracks are available for those completing their high school education, returning college students, and non-traditional students.
 
  • The Frank Spencer Achievement Award is available to graduating high school students applying for financial assistance to study at the college level.  Recipients are awarded $2,000, provided in two $1,000 payments for each of two years of post-secondary education.  Students entering a two- or four-year college are eligible.  Additional funds may be available in years three and four for students who are pursuing a four-year degree.  Applications are due by May 15th.   • The Rotary Club of the Deerfield Valley Scholarship is available to students entering their 3rd year of post-secondary education.  Recipients are awarded $2,000, provided in two $1,000 payments for their 3rd and 4th years of schooling.  Applications are due by May 15th. [Link to application.]
 
  • The Don Albano Short-Term Education Scholarship is available to applicants pursuing short-term programs while still in high school, as well as individuals looking for assistance in attending trade or technical programs or completing short-term licensing or certification requirements.  Applications are accepted and reviewed on a quarterly basis. Rotary District Jan McElroy Scholarship
 
This Scholarship Fund is to be used to support the college education of non-traditional students from Rotary District 7870.
 
Applicants must be 21 years of age or older and must have completed high school or have earned a G.E.D. There must be at least a three-year gap between graduating from high school and full time college attendance or a record of part-time college for three years after graduating from high school. Scholarship recipients earning a B average or better may apply for a subsequent year of support, allowing the possibility for support to continue until the supported course of study is completed. The scholarship can be used for expenses at a four- year or a two- year college, or for another type of accredited institution. A committee consisting of representatives from District 7870 will determine the Scholarship recipient each year.
 
The scholarship award will be in the amount of $2,500 and will be presented at a District Rotary meeting.
